Bradford Telegraph and Argus: busawards

Dear Reader, I think it’s fair to say that businesses and business organisations across the Bradford district are working harder than ever.

And with local unemployment down to just 2.4 per cent, it seems that effort is paying off in terms of growing the Bradford economy.

But with inflation rising, growth slowing and the ongoing uncertainty over Brexit and the worldwide impact of the Trump effect, there’s no doubt the times are going to become ever more challenging.

What better moment, then, than to take a little pause and give yourselves a little pat on the back for having done so well in getting this far?

Every business needs to shout about its successes to its local community, if only to give its employees a boost in morale and wider recognition for all their hard work.

And that’s exactly what the Telegraph & Argus Bradford Means Business Awards was set up to do.

The awards are a showcase for businesses large and small, entrepreneurs both new and established, in every sector.

It’s an opportunity to tell your story, shout about your achievements and, if you’re lucky, take away one of the top prizes and a brilliant marketing message for your letterhead – “Bradford Means Business Award Winner 2017.”

But you can’t win if you don’t enter so this is your chance to put your name forward for one of our 11 award categories.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

The awards are staged and run in partnership with Bradford Council and the Bradford Chamber and they have become the highlight of the business calendar in the district.

Most of the following pages are devoted to individual categories, outlining what the judges will be looking for, and you can find details on each category and nomination forms here.

Most of the awards are for you and your team to enter but there are two categories – Employer of the Year and Retail, Hospitality & Leisure Business of the Year – where we invite our readers to nominate their bosses or a company or outlet that provides outstanding customer service, respectively.

Each award is sponsored by a local business or business organisation that wants to show its support for others as well as give something back to the wider business community as a celebration of its own success.

And some of them, of course, are past winners themselves!

This is the T&A’s seventh annual business awards and every year it gets better and better. But we can’t do it without the support of the Council, the Chamber and our sponsors – and especially without YOU.

So please spare a few minutes to read about the award categories and please put forward an entry or entries. You have nothing to lose except a little time and the rewards are potentially great for you and your team.

This year’s awards ceremony will again take place at the Aagrah Midpoint Suite, in Thornbury, our hosts since the very first event. But it will take place slightly later than usual, on Thursday, July 6.

It might seem a long way away but there’s a lot to do before then so please send in your entry as soon as possible!

The Bradford Means Business Awards are a brilliant example of the private and public sectors working together for the good of local business, the local economy and the whole district.

With your help, this year’s awards will be the best yet.

See you there!
