A seven-year-old Yeadon 3rd Brownie has won the Leeds Bradford Airport and Camden Food Co’s competition to find the ‘good-filler’ of all sandwiches in the region.
Rachael Buxton’s winning entry of a mozzarella cheese, tuna and roasted red pepper panini will also be sold at the airport’s Camden Food Outlet throughout the summer season.
Brown owl Stephanie Armitage, of Yeadon 3rd Brownies, said: “We are delighted to have been involved, the group really enjoyed getting creative designing their perfect sandwich.
“It is very exciting to have the winner in our group, especially as Rachael’s sandwich will be available for passengers to buy at the airport. The prize money will go to a group activity for all the girls to enjoy.”
The Camden Food Co outlet, which has seating for about 160 people, at Leeds Bradford Airport opened earlier this year in May, and prides itself on providing food with an emphasis on Yorkshire produce.
Russell Sibley, operations manager at Camden Food Co at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “Our aim with the Camden Food Co is to offer choices that are ideally suited to the needs of the customer at Leeds Bradford.
“We want the outlet to offer something of the unique culinary heritage of the area and Rachael’s sandwich ticked all the boxes for us.
“Her tasty sandwich will be made and sold at the airport throughout the summer season.”
