Firm ends year on a high

Business and financial adviser Grant Thornton ended 2011 on a high after celebrating one of its most successful months for winning new business.
The firm’s local offices secured major contracts to provide audit and tax advice for four Yorkshire-based businesses, including Cartridge World and Fellowes.
The firm benefited from its strong international capability in winning the work for Cartridge World, which operates franchises worldwide. An international team from Grant Thornton including experts from the UK, France, the United States and Australia, was chosen by the retailer of ink and toner printer cartridges which wanted a global relationship partner with franchise experience.
Another global business with Yorkshire headquarters, Fellowes, which manufactures and markets business machines and office accessories, also chose Grant Thornton due to its international reach.
Grant Thornton has also been appointed by Leeds-based Lexia Solutions, one of the UK’s leading providers of environmental, health and safety, and management services, as well as Ingemino, a newly-formed company established to acquire, develop and grow businesses providing testing solutions.
Andy Wood, audit partner at Grant Thornton, said: “It has been an amazing few weeks for us, seeing our hard work and persistence paying off. In all of these cases, we invested time and effort to really getting to know these businesses and understanding how we could add value.”
