A hearing specialist is offering free tests to prevent hearing loss in Bradford.
Dave Sutton, 56, has been appointed as registered hearing aid audiologist at the Bradford branch of global hearing aid specialist Amplifon.
Mr Sutton said: “Too many people don’t realise how hearing loss can quickly lead to social withdrawal and feelings of isolation. My role will be to promote hearing health in Bradford and advise people on how to protect their hearing.”
He said in the UK there were nine million people suffering hearing loss.
“Hearing is usually put to the bottom of the health agenda compared with trips to the dentist or optician, yet hearing loss can have a huge effect on quality of life. I hope offering people a free hearing test will encourage people to get into the habit of regularly monitoring their hearing, ” he said.
Telltale signs of hearing loss include constantly asking people to repeat themselves or compla-ining that others are mumbling or talking too loudly.
