Two people from Saltaire company Pace were guests at Buckingham Palace last night after the firm was awarded the equivalent of a company knighthood in the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
David McKinney, chief operating officer, and Kate Smedley, treasurer, attended an evening reception for Queen’s Award winners, hosted by the Queen.
Pace won its Queen’s Award in the innovation category.
The firm specialises in digital set-top box technology and has been honoured this year for its pioneering work developing high definition set top box technology.
It is Pace’s second award, having won an international trade award in 2008.
Osborn Metals, based in Low Moor, Bradford and Silsden-based sleeping bag manufacturer Snugpak were also recognised in the Queen’s Award for Enterprise announced in April.
