Bradford’s Marie Curie Hospice has received a £9,610.73 from the Leeds Building Society.
Emmerdale actor Duncan Preston, who plays Douglas Potts in the soap, handed over the cheque at the Bradford Hospice in Maudsley Street.
Part of the donation – £5,694.09 – was raised through the society’s Your Interest in Theirs scheme, which asks members to give 99p of their interest each year to charity. The rest – £3,916.64 – came from donations from the society’s annual meeting.
Stewart Bannister, the hospice’s marketing communications manager, said: “It was a great opportunity to visit the Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford and see what the money raised by our members, goes towards.”
Jane Edgeley, Bradford hospice manager said she was “delighted” with the donation.
