A charity day at a new car wash business raised more than £300 for Cancer Research UK.
From the moment Pit Stop Car Wash on Valley Road in Shipley opened its gates on Saturday, it was non-stop, said Kevin Wood, who has opened the business with Vikki Crosby and Ryan Bedford.
All customers on the first day received a free car wash in return for the a donation to the cancer charity in memory of their friend Lee Greenwood, of Wrose, who died in 2002, aged 25 from cancer.
Since then an annual fundraising event has been held by at Eccleshill Football Club and now Pit Stop Car Wash will be holding a free car wash every year and giving a further five per cent donation to Cancer Research UK from every car washed.
Mr Wood added: “We aim to raise thousands of pounds for a very good cause and one that has affected most people.”
Pit Stop Car Wash is open from 8.30am till 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am till 5pm Sundays. To get involved and fundraise for Cancer Research UK call (0113) 203 2433 or visit cancerresearchuk.org.
