Environmental technology specialist Andel has developed a device that could save haulage and bus companies on diesel costs and reduce their carbon footprint following a £100,000 loan from Partnership Investment Finance (PIF).
The Save-Fuel gadget attaches to the diesel engines of large lorries and commercial buses and converts energy from the engine’s alternator into a power source to boost the engine performance of the vehicle.
The loan from PIF has allowed the West Yorkshire-based company to bring the product to market and will help Andel market the device in the haulage and bus industry.
Alex McWhirter, assistant director of business at Yorkshire Forward, said: “Yorkshire has a track record of developing green technologies and businesses. The support Andel are receiving takes them a step closer to making this product become another success story in this sector.”
