A Bradford-based online sales company has become the first in the UK to secure a trade distribution deal for three of the world’s biggest bed brands.
The deal has created two new jobs with further recruitment planned as the business develops.
Wow! Lifestyle, based in Little Germany, predicts the agreement to supply Silentnight, Sealy and Rest Assured contract products to independent hotels, guest houses and care homes could take its turnover to around £500,000 within the first year.
The on-line business wowlifestyle. co.uk was launched last year to market beds to householders.
Its move into the commercial market as the country’s first distribution agent for the Silentnight Group’s three top contract brands is set to advance the company’s growth.
Sealy is the most popular brand for bed-buyers globally while Silentnight is favoured by more UK consumers.
Managing director Darren Stega Jones said: “This is a great endorsement of our business from the biggest names in the industry. We all know the value of a good night’s sleep and we want to support small and medium-sized operators in the hotel, leisure and care industries to provide high quality amenities to their customers.
“Beds are the most important pieces of furniture in any hotel or guest house room and we can now supply the very best products to the trade, simply and efficiently via our website.
“We only supply Silentnight group’s beds because we are committed to their brands.
“It’s great that our commitment has been recognised by this agreement to make us the first agents to supply all three of their brands to non-domestic customers.”
Wow’s contract to act as sole distributor covers Yorkshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
Mr Stega-Jones said: “We can work with customers across the country as well and we want to start building relationships with them right away.”
Wow! predicts the credit crunch will work to its advantage as more holidaymakers save cash by staying in the UK.
Mr Stega-Jones said: “By September, there will be a lot of hotel and guesthouse owners who will need to replace their beds after a busy summer. We are now well placed to meet their requirements swiftly and cost-effectively.”
Wow! Lifestyle was launched by Mr Stega-Jones, who also runs new media company, Inphi.net and co-director David Horrix, a former product manager at Redcats UK, which included Empire Stores.
