KEELHAM Farm Shop has scooped a top accolade at this year's Great British Food Awards.

The family-run business, which has shops in Thornton and Skipton, was named Best Independent Retailer in the North of England.

It was selected top in its category by a panel of industry judges which included Nathan Outlaw, Michel Roux Jr, John Torode and Valentine Warner, along with other celebrated chefs, food personalities and critics.

The awards are widely recognized as the benchmark of excellence for British artisan food.

Victoria Robertshaw, co-owner of Keelham, said: "The whole Keelham team is thrilled to be awarded with the Best Independent Retailer in the North, and to be recognised by such significant peers from our industry. We also have to say thank you to our fantastic 400 local suppliers and producers who help to keep our shelves stocked with the best independent Yorkshire produce day in day out, and of course to our incredible loyal customers. Together, we are helping to put Yorkshire on the map as a fantastic foodie destination.”
