AN ECCLESHILL pub is set for a £210,000 makeover with new jobs set to be created – after being taken over by two regulars.
The Manor House will reopen next month following its refurbishment by Heineken-owned Star Pubs & Bars1 and new licensees Mike O’Neill and Yvonne Drake.
They have taken on the Leeds Road pub after both retiring from jobs in human resources and have been regulars at the pub for the last 15 years.
At least seven new jobs will be created as part of the project.
The funds will be spent on a complete overhaul of the interior and exterior, turning it into a modern country pub.
The interior is being reconfigured to create a light and airy bar with cosy alcove seating and an open area with folding doors which can be sectioned off for private functions and live entertainment. The kitchen is also being upgraded to allow The Manor House to offer freshly-cooked traditional dishes and customers will have the opportunity to select their own toppings on each pizza made on a new stone-bake pizza oven.
