THE arrival of three new stores has given the Kirkgate shopping centre a boost following a busy start to 2017 at the mall.

Along with the new retailers, three current tenants at the city centre mall have recently renewed leases, and a tenant has also upgraded to a bigger unit.

The three new retailers in the centre are Zuuluu, Browline, and VIP Premium Vaping and E-Cigarette Liquids.

Owned by Bradford-based business duo Neelum Mukhtar and Mark Harrison, Zuuluu is an ethically-sourced jewellery, clothing, and homeware store, selling handmade items from countries in Africa and across Asia and the Middle East.

Brow Line offers a variety of eyebrow styling services, and VIP sells premium electronic cigarette products.

The three stores that have renewed leases are jewellers Warren James, toiletries store Bodycare, which is marking its 17th year in the Kirkgate centre, and shoe shop Deichmann.

Meanwhile Virgin Media has moved to a bigger unit in the lower, Darley Mall from the upper mall store it has occupied since 2013.

Eleanor Stanley, shop manager at Warren James, said: “This branch is one of the Warren James originals so we have been here, in this centre, for many years and are not planning on going anywhere.

“We are very happy here.”

Catherine Riley, Kirkgate centre manager, welcomed the new shops to the centre.

She said: “The last few months have been busy at Kirkgate Shopping, with new stores, faces, renewals and shoppers.

“The variety of the shops in the centre caters to a wide range of customers.

“We are delighted with how things are shaping up and there are lots more exciting things to come throughout the year, so keep your eyes peeled.”

Two events currently taking place in the centre are a Mother’s Day film competition and the Kirkgate Easter Appeal.

Shoppers have until Friday to enter a competition to win tickets to see Beauty and the Beast at Cineworld, and until the end of the month to donate Easter eggs and other gifts, which will be collected by JCI Bradford and donated to disadvantaged families around the city.
