MORE than £3 million in European funding is being made available to boost tourism across the Leeds City Region, which includes Bradford.

The cash – from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development – will help rural businesses such as farms and farm shops to invest in infrastructure.

Grants from £35,000 are on offer where investment in capital assets will increase the number of visitors and lengthen their stay in the region.

Roger Marsh (pictured), chairman of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, said: “The funding allocation is another fantastic addition to the business support available to Leeds City Region businesses.

“It will allow us to add to and develop the wealth of tourism assets that already exist here.”
