MORE than 50 jobs will be created by the expansion of an on-demand delivery service into Bradford.

City restaurants including Mumtaz, My Thai, My Lahore and Mamma Mia have signed up to Deliveroo, the delivery service for restaurant meals.

The majority of the jobs created by Deliveroo in its first year, which started in Bradford today, will be riders, who aim to deliver food, which will be cooked fresh to order and delivered from the restaurant kitchen to the customers’ door within 30 minutes.

Caroline Hazlehurst, Deliveroo general manager, said: “We’re extremely excited to be launching in Bradford and we’re looking forward to bringing some of the town’s delicious dishes straight from the hands of chefs to customers’ doors.

“New Bradford riders are now kitted out in their hyper-reflective kit and locals can order from the fantastic variety of restaurants, whatever they want, whenever they want, all from the comfort of their own home, office desk or wherever else hunger strikes.

“We are excited to expand and widen the variety of restaurants on offer to our customers in Bradford over the course of the next year."
