A NEW partnership with three independent Yorkshire food and drink producers is the latest move by Bradford-based Seabrook Crisps to further develop its fast-growing premium product range .

Seabrook has teamed up with Bradford-based Akbar’s Restaurants, Black Sheep Brewery in Masham and Beverley-based cured meats supplier Three Little Pigs to develop a new Food Heroes range of its premium Lattice crisps that are being stocked in supermarkets across the UK.

Since launching in 2014 at the premium end of the crisps market the lattice range is now worth £4.5 million to Seabrook and growing by 17.2 per cent year on-year.

Seabrook’s latest brand growth strategy identified an opportunity to develop a crisp range to meet growing demand for snacks with authentic meal flavours and the firm approached each of the suppliers.

This resulted in a new range of lattice crisps in chicken jalfrezi flavour created with Akbar’s; steak and ale flavour in partnership with craft ale maker Black Sheep Brewery and Chorizo flavour developed with charcuterie producer Three Little Pigs.

Seabrook worked closely with each producer to ensure authentic flavours and maintain its commitment to offer vegetarian friendly and gluten free crisps.

Kevin Butterworth, Seabrook Crisps marketing director, said: “We wanted to work with all three businesses because they have an ethos shared by Seabrook, in that they pride themselves in crafting high quality produce with real strength of flavour to provide something distinctive to the category.

“As a manufacturer in a fiercely competitive crisps and snacks sector, Seabrook always aims to take an ambitious and innovative approach to product investments in order to lead the market and continue to demonstrate our challenger brand status.”

Seabrook and Akbar’s previously teamed up in 2014 to launch a chicken karahi flavour crisp to support Bradford’s winning entry as Curry Capital of the Year.
