A ROADSHOW aimed at getting more Bradford firms to export will hit town at the end of the month.

As part of a nationwide tour, the 32 tonne Exporting is GREAT campaign truck will be at Centenary Square between 10am and 4pm on Thursday January 28. It is part of the Government’s campaign to inspire 100,000 more businesses to trade overseas by 2020.

On board will be international trade advisors and other experts who will offer one-to-one advice and presentations to both new and established exporting businesses.

First-time exporters are invited to attend to register their interest in ‘live’ export opportunities, access tailored support to help them trade overseas, learn about other Exporting is GREAT events and subscribe to a UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) guide to exporting.

From 10 am on the day events on the truck will start with Not Difficult Just Different: 5 Steps to Exporting where three of Bradford’s leading exporters will offer first-time exporters an insight into their experience of trading overseas.

Executives from Lindapter, the global market leader in the manufacture of steel clamps; Bi-Fold Hardware, which makes bespoke fittings for bi-fold doors and has established a successful export strategy in the US and Keighley-based Kiravans, which designs, manufactures and sells parts for campervan conversions, will share their experiences.

A UKTI export opportunities clinic follows between 12noon and 1pm and from 1pm to 2pm UKTI partner Microsoft will present a digital transformation and mobility seminar to explain how a combination of the right technology and advice can help a business to innovate and grow.

Events conclude with another UKTI export opportunities clinic between 2pm and 4pm.

Mark Robson, UKTI Yorkshire regional director, said: “Exports are crucial to the future prosperity of this region and our country. Brand Britain is in high demand across the globe and our businesses should be making the most of these opportunities.

“Events on the Exporting is GREAT campaign roadshow truck will allow businesses to hear how their neighbours are finding growth in international trade, learn how they can do the same and also meet like-minded businesses who can help them on their export journey.

“Without exports your business isn’t fulfilling its growth potential. International trade isn’t difficult, it’s just different and we hope these events will help inspire more first-time and established exporters to take their first steps into new markets.”
