LOCAL manufacturing professionals heard from former world champion and Olympic silver medallist, Steve Cram, about the parallels between sport and business at an event in Skipton.
The athlete-turned-broadcaster , who is a Yorkshire Bank ambassador, spoke to around 35 manufacturing professionals at the event at Broughton Hall jointly hosted by Yorkshire Bank, Armstrong Watson Accountants and Clarion Solicitors.
Steve, who also won gold in the 800m and 1500m at the 1986 Edinburgh Commonwealth Games recounted experiences from his athletics career and passed on tips on setting and attaining goals.
Andy Davidson, head of Yorkshire Bank’s Bradford-based West Yorkshire business and private banking centre, said: “It was a real honour to welcome a distinguished sporting figure like Steve Cram to speak to our business community. Steve has gained a wealth of experience during his career, first as a top athlete then commentator and businessman, and he has passed some of that onto local business figures.”
