Nearly 70 businesses have been supported in the Bradford district by the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership in the past year.

The Partnership has developed a Business Growth Programme which offers grants of between £10,000 and £500,000 to companies.

The funding can be spent on buying land or equipment or research and development for instance, to enable businesses to grow and create jobs.

Bradford has benefited from nearly £5m of the £25m pot offered by the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership.

Bradford Council Leader Councillor David Green said: “It’s really encouraging to hear that Bradford has gained such a boost from the Business Growth Programme. As a result of this funding more than 700 jobs have been created or protected in our district.

“Being part of the Leeds City Region has proved very beneficial for Bradford and we will continue to explore every avenue to ensure businesses flourish and more jobs are created here.”
