Size does matter say first-time buyers

First-time buyers are aiming high when it comes to the size of house they want to buy, according to research by Yorkshire Bank.
Almost a third (29 per cent) of first-time buyers surveyed are setting their sights on buying a three-bedroom house.
Twenty-two per-cent are aiming for a two-bedroom flat, while a fifth (20 per cent) said they would like to buy a two-bedroom house.
Only seven per cent wanted a one-bedroom flat, while just five per cent are aiming for a one-bedroom home.
More than half (56 per cent) of people buying a new home said they were the sole owner, while 42 per cent bought jointly with a partner or friend.
Men were more likely than women to live on their own, while people were worried about getting a mortgage and saving the necessary deposit.
