IT is not every day that supporters start a petition to keep a certain player at their football club. At the end of last season, Ipswich fans were so upset by the decision to release Paul Anderson that they took matters into their own hands. During the play-off semi-final against deadly rivals Norwich, Anderson scored the equaliser at Portman Road. One Town fan, from Wetherby of all places, punched a hole in his roof to celebrate Anderson’s strike as he watched on Sky. The fan posted a picture of the damage caused on Twitter, tagging Anderson in his tweet, prompting the winger to tweet back and offer to pay for the damage caused.
