Changes must be clear
SIR – I totally agree with Karl Dallas (Letters, June 30) regarding the new parking changes in James Street, Rawson Place and surrounding streets. Some form of publicity should have pointed the new changes out. read more

Banks need shake-up
SIR – Re the letter by S Pickup (T&A, July 3), I thought it was only I that played hell about matters that are important in our society. Mr Pickup is quite correct to take a pop at the top level of the banking fraternity. We, the ‘great unwashed’, are getting pretty brassed off hearing constantly about the multi-million pound pay deals, bonuses, etc, of the executives of the banking lot. The whole banking system at this time is cruising for a bruising and needs to be aware. All those billions of pounds profit that are generated from Joe Public should be re-directed to the ones that matter – the people who actually deal with everyday banking and make the system work. I believe our old friend Shakespeare would have understood how to deal with those worthless individuals at the top of the banking chain – he may have come up with a cunning plan to maroon them on a remote uninhabited island and then get in touch with the MoD and advise them to use said island as a weapons testing range. Young magician is a credit to our city
SIR – I’d like to say that one of the best things to come out of Bradford for many a year is Steven Frayne – Dynamo (the illusionist). He is like a breath of fresh air and such a positive role model for the younger generation of Bradford. He was bullied at school but instead of letting this get the better of him, he turned the bullying round to him being admired for his illusion/magic tricks his grandpa showed him. I’ve watched all his programmes and without exception he comes across as such a nice lad, nicely spoken with no airs and graces at all, who really gels with his audiences (young and old alike). He has done wonders for the image of Bradford and I wish him all the very best and I’m sure he’ll go from strength to strength. Even though I’ve never met him, I’m really proud of him. read more
