Dave , I'm lost for words really , we have both just been "there" for such a long time . 55 years of true friendship brought about by the alphabet sitting us together aged 11 , we hit it off straight away and finished with a game of golf just a few weeks ago at Whitby . Our trips to and with Leeds United were fantastic and much envied by our teachers , they seemed happy to get the detail ,even if we'd "slammed school " to go . Great happy times . We both still laughed at our formula one lift in a 3 wheeler to Huddersfield Town from Odsal , the bloke was crackers . Together at all my dads parties and your legendary parties all brilliant memories . I know all our group from the old Buttershaw days in the 60,s and 70,s are devastated by your passing . The dignity of your battle against illness has been epic and shown what a big man you are . Sadly Dave I can't be at the celebration of your life on Wednesday the 20th as I return to England on the 23rd . On the day of your passing we played Sgt Peppers , Magical Mystery tour and lots of Beatles numbers in your memory . I had Doug and Gillian here with me at the time . Well Dave I'm sure youu'll have put your own stamp on proceedings in a way to help others to remember you with the type of happiness our friendship has always provided .
Safe Journey Dave . Love Steve .xx
Marching on Together .
