Dear Simon, I was very sorry to learn of Susan's tragic illness a couple of weeks ago, in the cases of terminal illness I believe the sooner the end arrives the better. This applied to my mother who died at Manorlands in Dec 1990, after 3 weeks occupation, she had stomach cancer, her death was a great relief to her suffering, and to the stress caused to my family. The illness is the tragedy not the death.
Please accept the sincere condolences of myself, my sister in law Mrs June Webster and all the members of the Church Lunch Club that meets bi-montly at Oakwood Hall.
I do plan to attend Susan's funeral.
ALAN CHAPMAN.
