Yorkshire advanced their lead over Middlesex to 268 at tea on day three at Scarborough as they chase a crucial LV= County Championship victory in their title bid.

The hosts lost three wickets after lunch - Kane Williamson, Alex Lees and Jonny Bairstow - in pushing their second-innings score to 247-4 from 77 overs. There were 32 more to be bowled today.

Williamson was superbly caught one-handed by Ollie Rayner at first slip in the first over of the session for 62, before Lees was caught at second slip off the same bowler for 67 four overs later as the score fell to 155-3 in the 48th.

With Yorkshire having just topped 200, Bairstow top-edged a pull against Toby Roland-Jones to long-leg for 32, leaving the score at 201-4 and the lead 222.

Andrew Gale was 42 not out and Jack Leaning 19 not out at the interval.
