Adrian Purtell insists he would consider staying with the Bulls, despite the imminent threat of relegation.

The 29-year-old made a successful return to the Bulls side after suffering a heart attack in his first Super League season in May 2012, but is out of contact this year.

Defeat against Huddersfield on Sunday will condemn Bradford to life in the Championship, although they could still appeal to the High Court about a six-point deduction for entering administration.

But Purtell is willing to remain at Provident Stadium and held the club rebuild after a dismal campaign.

"I signed for three years when I came over so this is my last year," he said. "I'm in regular contact with my manager, although it's been tough with the different time zones.

"I wouldn't mind staying here to be quite honest. I guess it would be a great way to redeem myself after the season we've had, getting this great club back up.

"It's an option. I probably don't have too many years left in my career. I think I can play for another two or three years easily so I'm going to have to go through all my options and see what's best."

Asked about the possibility of relegation this weekend, he said: “We haven't spoke about that, to be quite honest. On Sunday we want to win and that's what we're planning on doing.

"I'm not quite sure if we lost where that leaves us, but at the end of the day, we need to win. We are due a win. We've trained really well this week and hopefully we can take that out onto the paddock and show that on Sunday.

"We've only got ourselves to blame for where we are in the table. We've got to answer those questions.

"I guess if there was some clarity and everyone could focus on moving forward and knowing what our set goal is - and that is working towards getting the club straight back up - then that's a good thing."
