Yorkshire’s NatWest T20 Blast clash with Lancashire at a sold-out Headingley tonight could spark a domestic in the Khan family.

Lancashire’s deadly Pakistani quick Junaid Khan is riding the crest of a wave on and off the field ahead of this crucial North Division fixture, which sees Yorkshire bid for their fourth win from six matches.

While the left-arm yorker expert has taken 14 wickets so far for the Lightning, he got engaged only last week - to a Bradford girl!

Khan, who has been staying in Bradford this summer, will tie the knot with Khansa in a couple of years.

First he has to concentrate on dealing with Yorkshire’s master-blaster Aaron Finch and company.

"Junaid's a super bowler, and with him and Kabir Ali bowling at the death, it's hard to rely on getting too many runs off them because they're such great yorker bowlers,” said Finch.

“In that regard, you have to be smart with how you approach them up front.

“They're a big danger at the start because they can move the ball through the air, which is the biggest challenge in the shortest form.

“I suppose it's about taking your medicine and not looking to take as big a risks against them guys. Hopefully there's one or two other bowlers in the attack who you can line up and go at quite hard.”

Finch smashed 88 off 55 balls in a win against Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford earlier this month, and he played Khan better than any other batsman has so far this summer.

“I was a bit inconsistent at the start,” he reflected. “I was trying to hit the ball a bit too hard. I was a bit one-paced. But as I continued through my innings, I thought I played reasonably well and hit the gaps well. It was a nice innings.”

Should Yorkshire reach the quarter-finals, it is likely that Finch would be unavailable because he is due to leave for a national training camp at the end of next month.

But the Victorian has expressed his wish to return to Headingley for a second spell in the future.

He added: “The county have been fantastic. Nothing's been too hard from their point of view. I've loved being around the boys, they're a great bunch of lads. We'll see down the track. If the opportunity comes up to return, I'd definitely jump at it.”
