UPPER Airedale's Joe Lumb Competition match against Doncaster at Skipton Cricket Club proved a case of lost opportunities.

The hosts reduced the visitors to 13-4 and later 63-6, Tom Bradley making 33, before a Doncaster revival.

Jack Zuurbier (59) and Suleman Ahmed (32) added 80 on their way to 153-9 before the last pair put on 35 as Denholme duo Isaac Murray (4-37) and Matty Wear (2-19) and Oxenhope's Dan Scott (2-45) got among the wickets.

In stark contrast, Upper Airedale made an excellent start, Oakworth skipper Ben Howell (35) and Settle's John Davidson adding 65 for the first wicket.

Murray chipped in with 15, and at 88-2 the hosts were again in the driving seat.

But the dismissal of Davidson for 48 triggered a collapse and Airedale were dismissed for 132, Colley taking 6-28.

This second defeat means that Upper Airedale's trip to Malton to face Scarborough on Sunday, July 27 is a dead rubber.
