Former Bantams striker Danny Cadamarteri has retired from the game on medical advice.
The 34-year-old has not kicked a ball this season for Carlisle because of a long-term knee injury.
Cadamarteri made 97 appearances for City in two spells with his home-town club and scored nine goals.
But he left under a cloud in 2006 after failing a drugs test – which saw him banned for six months.
He has recently been filling his time by coaching the women’s team at Leeds United.
