Bradford No 2 take on Castleford No 3 in the Yorkshire Inter-District Snooker League on Sunday at Cue Gardens (7.30pm), knowing that a draw will guarantee them promotion but that victory will secure the Division Two title.

This would be a great achievement for the district, with Bradford No 1 having already taken the Division One title once again, and would mean the two sides facing each other next season for the first time in a number of years.

The Bradford Snooker Championship semi-finals all take place this week, starting off with a repeat of last year's semi-final, with Kevin Firth (Undercliffe Cricket Club) taking on John Wellham (Allerton Cons) tomorrow night.

Wellham was successful 12 months ago against 2012 finalist Firth, a tight 4-3 victory setting up his first final appearance, but he then fell to four-time champion Gareth Green.

Howard Mawson (Eccleshill Victoria Cons), who has appeared in a number of finals and won in 2004, takes on Anthony Green (Harold Club) on Saturday in the other last-four tie.

Green is competing in his first Bradford Singles Championship and has already knocked out nine-time champion Wayne Cooper in this year's event.

Both matches take place at Great Horton Conservative Club and start at 8pm.

On Sunday at Eccleshill Victoria Conservative Club, both Bradford Snooker Pairs semi-finals take place, starting at 7.30pm.

Mark Slater and Jason Murgatroyd (Clayton Libs), champions in 2005, face this year's surprise duo of Terry McDonald and Sonny Sandhu (Undercliffe Cricket Club), while the other semi-final is an all-Undercliffe Cricket Club affair, with Cooper and Firth playing Josh Walker and Adam Tipper.

The Moorhouse Shield starts a week tomorrow, with first-round matches. They are Eccleshill WMC A v Lilycroft and Fields v Clayton Rugby A, with the second legs the following week.

The next round will then be on May 15 and 22, with the first-round winners facing each other, with the other ties being Queensbury Cons v Eccleshill WMC B, Great Horton Cons v Chapel Green Libs and Clayton Rugby B v Wibsey Libs.

Full details have been sent out, together with handicaps for the event.
