Eccleshill A skipper Keith Hall rolled back the years against Ladyhill A on his way to a 21-5 victory.

It helped steer his side to a second consecutive win (25-5) in the Naylor Premier League.

Brighouse Sports A find themselves joint top with Eccleshill A after a 29-1 rout of a weakened Shipley Club A, with Ronnie Wormald 21-4, Andy Wood 21-5, Josh Mordue 21-6, Tony Riley 21-7 and Alan Bray 21-9 doing the damage.

Mark Hughes 21-8, Peter Wilcox 21-9 and James Wilcox 21-9 helped Crossgates A to a 24-6 win over Asa Briggs A, and a first win of the season.

Wyke A, who were defeated at home last week, left Clayton A with a share of the points in a 15-15 draw.

Phil Dowgill’s 21-8 ensured Clayton A took the aggregate as Wyke carded a superb six away winners. Champions Pudsey A travelled to Whitkirk and came away with a 21-9 win, with John Spinks 21-3 and captain Chris Hatton 21-8 doing the damage.

Stuart Wilson 21-2 and Tony Southern 21-6 helped Greengates A to a superb 24-6 away success in the Godwin League, despite a great 21-6 from Horsforth newcomer Craig Fenton.

Pudsey Littlemoor A will surely be the team to beat this season, as they aim for a quick return to the top flight. They were 26-4 home winners against Rufford A, thanks to Duncan Reeves 21-2, Craig Hebbard 21-5 and Danny Towning 21-9.

Pudsey B carded an impressive nine home winners in a 28-2 demolition of Cranmore, with Paul Cousins 21-3, Kevin Rankin 21-4 and Ian Kemp 21-6 the pick of them.

Drighlington A carded their first victory of the season, with a comfortable 19-11 win against Eccleshill B, wish Josh Gamble and Mark Smith both carding 21-10 victories.

Joe Stockdale’s 21-8 helped Guiseley A to a 22-8 win over Brighouse Sports B, who had Kevin Wood showing some resistance with a 21-10.

Clayton B look like they are keen to make it a double promotion, as they find themselves early leaders in the Observer League after a stunning 23-7 win at Wyke B, who were promoted along with Clayton last season.

Graham Chappell 21-8 and Alan Peel 21-9 were the pick of eight away winners for Clayton.

Kenny Bedford and Jennie Allen both carded 21-5 wins to help Crowghyll A to 20-10 home win over Queensbury A. Wibsey A were 19-11 winners at home to Pudsey Littlemoor B, thanks to Kevin Johnson 21-2 and Paul Wilczynski 21-7, while Eric Butler’s 21-7, made the difference for Ladyhill B as they edged out Holies S & SC 18-12.

Elland CA & BC tasted defeat for the first time as they lost 17-13 in a high-scoring game at Hove Edge A, as the home side managed six winners to secure the aggregate.

Peel A made it three wins out of three in the Bartle League, with Eccleshill C their latest victims.

New recruit for Peel, Nichola Stocks, who produced a great 21-5, helped Peel to a 21-9 success, despite Carol Matthews’ 21-8 for the visitors.

Roy Carter’s 21-8 was the pick of eight home winners as Hightown defeated Royd House, who had Joanne Ellis on top form with a 21-10 away win.

Stuart Harrison got Harold Park off to a flyer at Asa Briggs B, carding a 21-4 win, but when Michael Sansom responded with a stunning 21-2 for Asa it went downhill for the visitors, as Asa took the game 21-9.

Pudsey C posted their first win of the season, with a 19-11 home win over West Bradford A, helped by Tom Morris’s 21-4.

After two away games, Birkenshaw found themselves at home to Tyersal A in the Haigh League. With Keith Woodhead 21-0, Ann Ramsbottom 21-2 and Ronald Ellis 21-5 all in top form, they stunned Tyersal with a 26-4 demolition job.

Rufford B were another team in good form at home, with a 25-5 win over Armley Cons, thanks to James Greenwood 21-4, Bill Slater 21-4, Cath New 21-8 and Jeremy Parsons 21-9.

Stuart England 21-4 and Vic Riley 21-6 got Oakenshaw A off to a flying start in their match with Drighlington B but Darren Schofield’s 21-7 late in the match meant Drighlington left with eight points.

Steven James’ 21-4 was the pick of seven home winners for Cleckheaton Moorend, as they saw off Guiseley B 21-9.

Wibsey B were the only team to find an away win, with an 18-12 success at Stanningley, assisted by Gary Woodhead 21-6 and David Lupton 21-9. Steve Gardner’s 21-4 for Stanningley was in vain.

Crowghyll B could only muster two winners at Queensbury B in the Riley League, but both were impressive wins – Sam Chippendale 21-5 and Philip Robinson 21-8.

Queensbury replied with Michael Clare 21-5, John Armitage 21-8, Brian Raistrick 21-9 and Christine Smith 21-9 to ensure a comfortable 24-6 home win.

Barry Durrans 21-1, Colin Wright 21-3 and Derek Briggs 21-5 helped Bradford Moor A to a 23-7 away win at Asa Briggs C as they remain undefeated, although Myles Summers showed his game has improved with a 21-6 win for Asa.

Another undefeated team are Bailiff Bridge A as they edged home 17-13 at home to West Royd, with David Franz 21-7 and Sandra Franz 21-9 starring. Stuart Brook’s 21-8 helped keep the aggregate close for West Royd.

Rufford C and Hove Edge B shared five winners each, and despite a great 21-8 win for Adele Hart-Wood for Rufford, it was Hove Edge that took the aggregate by 13-chalks to ensure a 17-13 away win.

Greengates B find themselves top of the Field Packaging League after three successive victories – their latest a 23-7 home win over Guiseley C, with Bryn Jones’ 21-2 the pick of eight home winners.

Horton also remain unbeaten after a narrow 16-14 win at Salts in a low-scoring game, thanks to Eddie Pells 21-1, Joe Walbran 21-4 and Eileen Willoughby 21-6. Brian Royston replied for Salts with a 21-9 to keep the score close.

Shelf A demolished Shipley Club B 28-2, carding nine home winners – Peter Barstow 21-4, David Danskin 21-5, John Brook 21-5 and Sylvia Allott 21-6 all on top form.

It was ladies day as Sheila Holdsworth 21-7 and Judy Cockroft 21-9 got Thornton off to a flier in their home match with Wibsey C, but with Rita Mackrill 21-5 and Joan Leppla 21-9 replying for Wibsey, it meant Thornton could only manage an 18-12 home win.

Cleckheaton Sports B defeated Bowling B 16-14 despite only carding four winners. Roy Tetley 21-2, Simon Raynor 21-7 and David Collins 21-8 starred for the hosts, while Sheila Krysik 21-9 was the best of six away winners for Bowling.

Bradford Moor B carded a full house in the Mellor League, as they trounced Bowling C 28-0, winning the aggregate by an amazing 108-chalks. Starring for Bradford Moor were John Mawson 21-2, Ray Field 21-4, Geoff Hudson 21-5, John Waite 21-6 and Gavin Rutter 21-8.

Glyn Hopper finds himself playing for Hipperholme & Lightcliffe B, and he helped his side to a 19-9 away win at Tyersal B with a 21-8 success. Surely it won’t be long before the Hipperholme A team captain has Hopper in his team.

West Bradford B beat Shelf B 21-7 with Simon Muncaster 21-3 and Janice Dibb 21-9 doing the damage. Les Holmes’ 21-7 replied for Shelf B. Oakenshaw B were 17-13 winners at Queensbury C, despite wins from James Chicken 21-8 and a doubling-up Brian Raistrick 21-9.

Greengates C were 17-11 home winners against Peel C, with Sue Steward 21-8 and James Burnett 21-9 ensuring a Greengates win. Dianne Goodall’s 21-4 for Peel kept the score respectable.

The Yorkshire Parks team begin the defence of their British Championship this Sunday with a 2pm start, against Birkenhead – the side they beat in last year’s semi-final.

There is a change in the format of the competition this year, with there now being only two groups of five teams, with the winners of each group progressing straight to the final. That change in format has resulted in an earlier start to the games, hence this fixture in April.
