SPECIALIST staff from Bradford Hospitals hosted an awareness event at Bradford Royal Infirmary’s new information centre highlighting World Tuberculosis (TB) Day.

The Trust’s TB Service is run by a specialist nurse team based at St Luke’s Hospital.

The serious bacterial infection is contagious when it affects the lungs and can eventually spread to others. In 2012 there were 158 TB patients in the Bradford area. In 2013 there were 140 patients, in 2014 there were 91 patients, in 2015 there were 98, and last year 84.
