A 12-YEAR-OLD girl has organised a second fun day to raise money for a cancer charity in memory of her great-grandmother.

Penny Ham is holding the event in honour of Marianne Liput, of Bradford, who died of leukaemia, aged 90, in June last year. All proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK.

She is looking to beat her £2,189 total from her first fundraiser held at her house in Coppice View, Idle, last year.

This year's event will take place on Sunday, July 31, between noon and 5pm, at Ashfield House, Elm Grove, Wrose.

It will include a motorbike exhibition, model railway, barbecue, tombolas and stalls.

Penny, a student at Leeds West Academy, hopes to raise £6,000 for the charity from the fun day and has approached firms herself to organise the event.

A silent auction features prizes including tickets to a Bradford City match.

Penny's mother, Claire Ham, 36, said: "I'm really proud of her.

"It keeps her busy and she has been organising it since June.

"We have found that a lot of businesses that helped us out last year are being even more generous this year.

"She is putting so much back by doing this and helping raise the money for the charity."
