A JEWELLER is stepping out in style to raise money for the hospice which cared for his baby son.

Liam McQuaid and his wife, Anna, will strut their stuff in a Strictly Come Dancing-type contest.

The event is supporting Martin House children's hospice at Boston Spa, where the couple's son, Niall, died aged just seven-weeks-old in 2006.

"We have been involved with fundraising for the hospice ever since," said Mr McQuaid, of Raffles, based in the Airedale Shopping Centre in Keighley.

"Niall had neurological problems and staff didn't just take him in, they took the whole family so we could spend time with him 24/7 They were just amazing.

"They've been asking us to do this dance competition, Strictly Get Dancing, for the last couple of years and we'd said no previously but we've basically been bamboozled into it this year!

"The last two years it has raised £68,000 so we're hoping that this time we can take that up to a £100,000 total."

The couple will be up against 15 other pairs in the contest on February 27, which will feature celebrity judges including Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley.
