ONE of the large gable ends left standing at the fire-ravaged Drummond Mill in Bradford was pulled down today.
Bradford demolition firm Thomas Crompton will bring down the other one tomorrow and Sunday.
Company director Thomas Crompton said the gable end demolished today was 120ft high.
"That has gone," he said. "The other one is the harder one. It is more substantial and there is more to it.
"Over Saturday and Sunday we will get a lot of it down. We should have removed quite a lot of the immediate danger on the site by Monday."
The devastating fire started at about 11.30am on January 28. Firefighters were forced to run for their lives as the blaze swept through the site.
A total of 38 people who lived near the mill were evacuated to Richard Dunn Sports Centre on the evening of the fire where they were given food and drink while Bradford Council arranged for Travelodge Bradford Central to take them in for the night.
Lumb Lane was closed for seven days as a result of the blaze.
