An MP has pledged to help tackle prostate cancer by signing up to a charity's Men United campaign.

Pudsey MP Stuart Andrew gave his support to the campaign after meeting with representatives fromProstate Cancer UK at the Conservative Party conference.

Mr Andrew said: "It was a pleasure to meet with campaigners from Prostate Cancer UK at conference and I commend the charity for the important work it does in raising awareness of prostate cancer. I was shocked to learn that men affected by or at risk of prostate cancer struggle to get access to the best treatments and would therefore encourage all my constituents to sign up for Men United, to ensure that the search for more reliable tests and treatments for the future is intensified and that the men who suffer from the disease are given the support they need."

The charity says despite prostate cancer being the most common cancer in men, those affected by it continue to face a number of injustices, particularly when it comes to access to the best treatments and aftercare support for their condition.
