Bradford College students celebrate A-level success

Bradford College student John Quan’s achieved an A* for Biology, Maths and Physics and an A in Chemistry

Leanne Hunt is celebrating after achieving an A grades in both her A2 Psychology and AS Sociology exams

A third of all students at Bradford College achieved a grade B or better with 97 per cent of students from the Centre for Academic Studies receiving an overall pass, which is 2 per cent greater than last year, with 68 A* or A grades being awarded.

Students were at the College’s Trinity Green Campus to collect their results and celebrate their individual success, as well as that of their friends, along with their tutors and College staff.

Ripping open his results, star student John Quan’s smile said it all as he informed friends he had achieved an A* for Biology, Maths and Physics and an A in Chemistry. John can now realise his ambition to study natural sciences at Cambridge University.

Hardworking Ceri Norton was also celebrating after she gained an A for Media Studies, D Business Studies and C for Psychology.

Determined and focused single mother of three, Leanne Hunt is celebrating after achieving an A grades in both her A2 Psychology and AS Sociology exams. Despite juggling the commitments of studying with bringing up her young family, Leanne has worked tirelessly to achieve her goal. She now has plans in the pipeline to study Psychology at university level and has been accepted on the course. One of Leanne’s children was diagnosed with Autism whilst she was completing her course at Bradford College. This made Leanne even more determined to succeed to give her children an even brighter future.

Mature student Leanne credits Bradford College with giving her the help, support and motivation to complete her studies.

Supportive tutor Amy Brown was delighted as Leanne revealed her results.

Despite English not being her first language, outstanding student Diana Potacka is celebrating after achieving a B in Anthropology, A Sociology and B Psychology.

Arriving in the UK from Poland and with limited English she enrolled at Bradford College Sixth Form Centre and has never looked back. Diana has overcome communication and social barriers and applied herself to her studies to become the outstanding student we know today. Now she has achieved her goal, Diana has ambitions plans to study Anthropology at university level.
