A Down syndrome support project from Bradford has been nominated for a National Lottery award.

Just Kids is up against six other organisations in a public vote to decide the winner in the Best Education category.

The project, which is run by Down Syndrome Training and Support Service (DSTSS), provides information, training and support for parents and professionals living and working with ‘just kids’ who happen to have Down syndrome, through a variety of different courses, activities, and intervention sessions.

Dr Wendy Uttley, from DSTSS, said: "We're really excited, it’s an amazing achievement. Lottery money has really helped us spread the message about how important the education and social inclusion of children with Down syndrome is - after all, they’re just kids! It’s easy to vote, so we're hoping people support us, as it would be a fantastic reward for everyone involved in the project to receive national recognition for their hard work.”
