Kirklees Council’s leader, Councillor David Sheard, has announced a re-shuffle of his cabinet.
Coun Cath Harris will be deputy leader, while Coun Peter O’Neill’s portfolio is changing from children’s services to communities and leisure.
Joining the cabinet are Coun Graham Turner as member for resources and Coun Steve Hall as member for planning and highways.
Coun Jean Calvert will be responsible for children’s services and Coun Shabir Pandor will oversee schools.
Coun Peter McBride retains the portfolio for investment and regeneration and Coun Cathy Scott will have responsibility for streetscene and housing.
Coun Viv Kendrick will oversee public health, while Coun Molly Walton is taking on a new scrutiny role.
Coun Sheard said: “These are difficult times and we owe it to the electorate to find a way forward to rise to the challenges facing us and lead Kirklees to prosperity.”
