A hen party with a difference will raise money for a cancer charity. Brides and bridesmaids will walk from Haworth to Keighley wearing their wedding gear.

Anyone is welcome to join the four-mile trek, including men, so long as they are dressed in bridal wear.

The September 27 walk sets off from the Black Bull in Haworth and finishes at Wetherspoon’s in Keighley, and will raise money for Against Breast Cancer.

Vena Reid, one of the organisers, said: “We’re getting a good response already so we hope that this will be a great success and raise much needed funds.”

Vena said under-18s were allowed but had to be accompanied by an adult, and babies in decorated prams were welcome.Participants must wear trainers. Registrations at the Black Bull from noon, and the walk sets off at 2pm.

The minimum sponsorship is £20, or £10 for under-18s. Call Vena on 07851 596732 or e-mail vena.reid@yahoo.co.uk.
