A Coronation Street-mad Keighley man has landed a job as a tour guide on the famous cobbles.

Andy Steele is leading fans around the former famous set in Manchester.

Former Oakbank School student Andy, 24, from Highfield, is a presenter with local community radio stations Jam and Drystone.

He has performed an Elvis Presley tribute act, appeared in musicals Oliver! and Grease, and played leading roles with Sutton Amateurs.

His performing experiences are helping him in his job on Coronation Street: The Tour, which is running for the six months.

The cast of Coronation Street recently vacated the set, at the Granada Studios in Manchester, for a newly-built set in nearby Salford.

He said: “My colleagues call me the walking oracle because if they don't know a fact they come and find me.

“I love to watch episodes from the very first one to now, with characters going as far back as Elsie Tanner and Florrie Lyndley.

“I have a vast collection of Corrie memorabilia such as books, cups, mugs and even a teatowel.”

Andy urges the Keighley fans to sign up for the tour at ticketmaster.co.uk.
