A high-tech business has taken on an extra 20,000 square feet of factory space in Salts Mill in Saltaire.

Radio Design, which develops and makes radio frequency products for wireless communications markets, now has more than 60,000 square foot of the site in the world heritage village – as well as having other facilities in India, China and Finland.

Its hardware services general manager Richard Coatesworth said: “Our international business is poised for further strong growth in 2014 and these larger facilities were needed to support this next phase of our business development.”

Robin Silver, managing director of Salts Estates, said: “We at Salts Mill are pleased and proud to have supported Radio Design during this period of rapid growth.”

He said he hoped Radio Design would continue to prosper under the leadership of Eric Hawthorn. The firm was founded in Shipley in 2007.
