A Haworth GP’s stunning photography of the dramatic landscape of Iceland has propelled him to the final rounds of UK and European competitions.

Ross Brown’s Icelandic exhibition, featuring images from his 2013 visit to Iceland’s glaciers, has been showing at The Lime Gallery near Settle.

Dr Brown has now learned that he is through to the final round of judging for two high profile contests.

One of his Iceland photos has made it to the last stage in the ‘nature’s design’ category of the 2014 Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.

Another five of the Icelandic images have also been selected for the last stage of judging in the ‘landscape’ and ‘nature’s studio’ categories of the 2014 GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.

Dr Brown, who works at Haworth Medical Practice, in Heathcliffe Mews, said: "I am honoured that my Icelandic photographs have been selected for the final rounds of judging in both competitions.

"I would like to thank the Lime Gallery for supporting the exhibition.”

He visited Iceland last summer to capture the breathtaking aerial shots which show off the island’s stunning geography and the geology of its glaciers.
