TWO members of the public are being sought who stopped to help a robbery victim in the city whose handbag had been snatched.

West Yorkshire Police are urging the pair to come forward who went to the 27-year-old woman's aid after she was approached by a man who pushed her to the ground, punched her and made off with her handbag.

The incident occurred between 12.45pm and 1pm on Monday, March 20, as the woman was walking along Seaton Street, in Barkerend, Bradford.

A police spokesman said the suspect made off on foot and two members of the public chased after the suspect. They managed to retrieve the woman's bag before returning to help her.

The suspect is described as tall and wearing a black top with the hood up.

Detective Inspector Craig McKay, of Bradford CID, said: "This was a frightening assault on the victim and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information to please get in touch. ?

"We would particularly like to speak to the two witnesses who came to the woman's aid and would urge them to get in contact with officers."?
