A COMMUNITY organisation is calling for people of different backgrounds, ages and faiths to come together and show that Britain is a Unified nation.

One Britain One Nation was founded by award-winning former Bradford police inspector Kash Singh, and last year helped organise a major event to mark the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth, singing the national anthem and waving Union Jacks.

The group hopes to repeat this with another show of patriotism on June 23, and Mr Singh organised an event in Bradford City Hall yesterday to rally different groups to get involved.

The event saw talks from Sir Nick Weller, Chief Executive of Dixons Academies, Lord Patel of Bradford and Andy Welsh, Chief Executive of Bradford College.

June’s event will encourage people to “demonstrate their patriotism and belief in Britain, express their sense of Britishness and gain a sense of belonging.”
