BROADWAY shoppers were trapped in the centre's car park this morning after a security alarm was triggered.
The incident was tweeted by Paul Holmes at 10.29am who said: "Stuck in Broadway shopping mall, car park in lockdown.
Ian Ward, general manager of The Broadway explained: "We followed our routine security procedure this morning when a security alarm was triggered in the car park. Following an investigation it was determined that this was a false alarm and the car park is now fully operational once again.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused while we carried out the necessary checks. The health and safety of our customers is our number one priority.”
