July 3.

We have seldom read such a tirade of vitriolic, poisonous, venomous,

scurrilous invective directed at one unfortunate human being who is in

no position to answer back (July 1). It is, in fact, an exercise in

sheer nastiness.

Ian Bell's feelings of unadulterated hatred show through his writings.

But if he thinks his views are representative of the opinions of the

people of the United Kingdom then he is very much mistaken, as the

avalanche of support in favour of the Prince of Wales that has been

delivered to Highgrove House since the BBC documentary of June 29 has

shown.

It is members of the press, ''journalists'' like him who seem to be

hell-bent on destroying and denigrating the royal family, who, in our

opinion, are responsible for the breakdown of the Prince and Princess's

marriage. Society can well do without opinion from people like him.
