PRISONERS at Porterfield Prison in Inverness came up with a dash of

festive goodwill yesterday after thieves stole a giant chocolate Santa

Claus, which was to have been raffled to help the town's Drummond School

for handicapped children, from the Box of Delights shop in the town's

High Street. The prison governor telephoned shop manageress Gladys Main

to offer two hand-made doll's cots to replace the stolen Santa. The

cots, made by inmates at the prison, cost #60 each. A delighted Mrs Main

said: ''This is a wonderful gesture and with a bit of luck we will be

able to raise as much money as we had first hoped for the disabled

children.''
