A SCREENING of horror classic An American Werewolf in London kicks off a series of film nights in Saltaire.
The screenings have been made possible through the National Media Museum’s CineNorth project, funded by the National Lottery, to bring high quality digital cinema to communities.
Moira Fuller, manager of Victoria Hall, said the screenings could lead to a film club. “CineNorth is an excellent scheme to bring films to neighbourhoods that don’t have local cinemas. “We’re keen to keep this season going and give people the chance to decide the films we’ll screen in 2015.”
Saltaire’s previous cinema, the Saltaire Picture House, was at the junction of Bingley and Saltaire Road, and closed in 1957.
The Victoria Hall film season begins on Tuesday, October 28, with An American Werewolf in London. It is followed by Pan’s Labyrinth on Friday, November 21, and Withnail and I on Saturday, December 13.
Tickets are available from the Victoria Hall office or by post for an additional £1 per order. All profits from the cinema nights go into the running and upkeep of Victoria Hall.
