A PONY stolen from a Wilsden field has been found safe and well after an appeal in the Telegraph & Argus.

Four-year-old Jack vanished a week ago and his elderly owners searched horse fairs and contacted abattoirs to try to track him down.

But after publicising his plight in the T&A, they were contacted by police late on Monday to say Jack had been found wandering on wasteland in Tong, Bradford.

Speaking on behalf of the owners, family friend Charlotte Goodchild said: “They are so grateful to the Telegraph & Argus, because a stable owner in Tong had seen his picture and so went over and was able to check Jack for a microchip.

“She found it and so contacted the police”.

Police Sergeant Matt Donohoe, of the Shipley Area Neighbourhood Team added: “We would urge all owners to consider microchipping their animals.”
