ENTRANTS refused to be put off by the Bank Holiday rain as a good time was had by all at the Throstle Nest Riding School competition over the weekend.
The show had been planned to take place in the field surrounding the stables on Fagley Lane, but the weather meant the competition was moved to the venue's indoor arena, built three years ago using funds raised by the Riding for the Disabled Group.
Sarah Hamilton, of Throstle Nest, said: "The horses and riders were immaculate, and the competition was fierce."
More than £100 was raised on the day, which will be used to subsidise riding lessons for disabled riders.
